Description:

This is one of my large Santas, sitting in an old-fashioned sleigh.  The total length of this piece, including sleigh runners, is 34”.  The actual sleigh body is 25” long, and 11” wide.  This piece measures 25” tall (to the tip of the Christmas tree), and 24” tall to the top of santa.

The body of the sleigh is made of wood and metal, and has metal runners.

At present, this is the only santa I have in a sleigh, and the only one I will have for this season.  He is accompanied by 2 sculpted elves.

This is a more rustic type santa, wearing a short, very worn leather jacket, (a light tan/mustard color) trimmed with low pile light tan fur.  Barely visible is detail on the jacket front, with leather ‘strap’ and handmade button closures. His cap matches his jacket.  Santa wears gray tweed pants, black leather boots, and black leather mittens.  A red and green plaid scarf wraps around his neck.

Santa is accompanied by 2 hand-sculpted elves, each approximately 12” tall.  The elves are dressed differently, with attention to detail, in velours and felts of traditional Christmas colors.  While one elf hugs tightly to Santa's left shoulder, the other straddles the side of the sleigh, hanging onto santas knee.  This elf carries a miniature decorated wreath.

In the crook of santas left arm he carries a beautifully dressed (Victorian style) doll, and in the crook of his right arm, a shaggy teddy bear, complete with red Christmas vest: in Santa's hands, a filled Christmas stocking. On the floor of the sleigh, braced between santas feet, sits a  big black leather velvet lined sack, overflowing with gifts and toys.  A handsome sled rests across Santa's left leg, and more gifts and toys fill the remainder of the sleigh's interior.  In addition, he is toting a fully decorated (by nature) tree, wedged between himself and the seat of the sleigh.

A final touch: a decorated wreath adorns the front of the sleigh.
